MisterRichardson Books

I have recently begun publishing books of interest (to myself, at least). Some have been out of print several years and which I think would be nice to have a modern re-print, and some are new.

The first of these is John Newton’s Memoirs of William Grimshaw. Many years before the Brontes came to Haworth, William Grimshaw was the Anglican minister there and led in the Evangelical Awakening in that area during the 1700’s. His transformation from an unconverted vicar to a powerful preacher is one of many similar stories to come out of this revival. And John Newton, author of the hymn, Amazing Grace, knew Mr. Grimshaw and left us his memories of, and insights into, this unique preacher.

Another John Newton book I have put together is Letters and Conversations: John Newton’s Restored Letters to John Campbell. This was made possible by a discovery of these letters in PDF form on the Asuza Pacific University website. I went through all the letters available, comparing them with the original publication and then adding the material that was left out of the published edition.

Psalm 119 is the longest chapter in the Bible. Its 176 verses show us different aspects of God’s word, His law, and His commandments. The idea behind The Psalm 119 Study/Prayer Journal is that the richness of this psalm is best appreciated on a daily basis by considering, studying, and praying over one verse at a time.
